Julie Baribault

Julie Baribault (She/Her) is a research assistant with the Gender Violence and Autonomy Project. She is also a recent graduate of the Bachelor's of Arts Community Studies program with an honour's in Sport and Physical Activity Leadership.  Her honour's research was focused on empowering survivors to share their stories and finding a community of support on social media.

My Story

Julie was awarded the George Leith Community Studies Award, as well as being on the Dean's list with distinction the past 4 years.  Julie has presented her research at the APES Conference in 2021 as well as the International Conference on Gender & Women's Studies 2021.  Julie had her paper published in the International Conference on Gender & Women's Studies conference journal. 

Julie has recently started her Master's at Athabasca University in the Master's of Arts- Interdisciplinary Studies where she will continue her research on building survivorship and community through empowering survivors.
